



Jeffrey R Althoff MD, FACEP, UHM
Medical Director
Dr. Althoff is Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine and Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Althoff performed a fellowship in Aerospace Medicine at Wright-Patterson AFB. He has also completed the NOAA/UHMS Diving Medical Officer training. Dr. Althoff began practice with Hyperbaric Oxygen of Kansas City in 1992. He has served as the Medical Director since 1998. Dr. Althoff has also served as the Medical Director of the hyperbaric and wound care program at Kindred Hospital of Kansas City since 2007.

Thad Stephens MD, FACEP, UHM
President, Associate Medical Director
Dr. Stephens has been practicing with Hyperbaric Oxygen of Kansas City since 1994 and has served as the President of HBOKC since 1999. He is Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine and Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Kansas. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Following residency at Truman Medical Center, he received formal training in Hyperbaric Medicine (in 1994) from National Baromedical Services at South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Stephens is the recipient of the 2010 Physician of the Year Award presented by the Saint Joseph Medical Center Nursing Division.

Jeff Mize RRT, CHT, CWCA
Program Director
Mr. Mize has been with Hyperbaric Oxygen of Kansas City Since 1993. Mr. Mize has twenty-eight years of health care experience. Jeff oversees all aspects of Hyperbaric Oxygen of Kansas City, including insurance carrier negotiations, development and continuation of the Safety Program, billing and reimbursement, marketing and community development, as well as preparation and coordination of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) facility accreditation. Jeff has received his Hyperbaric Board Certification (CHT), trained as a Hyperbaric Safety Director and a UHMS facility accreditation surveyor. He is the 2010 recipient of the Gurnee Award presented to a UHMS associate member in recognition of outstanding contributions or advances in the area of patient treatment and support in conjunction with the undersea or hyperbaric medicine field. He is the current UHMS Associates Technologist Representative and, in that capacity, serves on the UHMS Scientific Committee, Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.

Tiffany Hamm BSN, ACHRN, CWS
Clinical Coordinator
Mrs. Hamm has been with Hyperbaric Oxygen of Kansas City since 1996. Tiffany oversees all aspects of patient care. Additional responsibilities include insurance carrier negotiations, billing and reimbursement coordination, and evaluation/coordination of nursing and administrative staff, marketing and community development, as well as preparation and coordination of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) facility accreditation. She is an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor. Tiffany received her hyperbaric training from National Baromedical Services at South Carolina School of Medicine and has received her Hyperbaric Board Certification. Tiffany has also received the distinction of Advanced Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (ACHRN), and is a Certified Wound Care Specialist (CWS). She is also a trained UHMS facility accreditation surveyor. Tiffany has particular expertise in billing and coding specific to hyperbaric medicine and wound care. She is the 2011 recipient of the Gurnee Award presented to a UHMS associate member in recognition of outstanding contributions or advances in the area of patient treatment and support in conjuction with the undersea or hyperbaric medicine field.
