Approach to Wound Healing

Our approach to the healing of patients is a collaborative effort with your primary care physician or specialist. Our multidisciplinary staff is comprised of registered respiratory therapists, registered nurses and physicians. Each staff member is board-certified in hyperbaric medicine by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified and has extensive experience in critical care.

We recognize the emotional impact an acute or chronic illness may inflict on a patient or family and will provide your care in a professional and compassionate manor. While you are receiving care at our facility, we will interact with your insurance carrier to ensure timely and proper reimbursement. We are available at any point to address and answer your questions and encourage your input.

Our facility is designed to provide a comfortable, pleasant environment for our patients. We utilize SECHRIST monoplace chambers. Each of our 3 chambers is capable of accommodating both critical and stable patients. We have the ability to maintain and administer IV fluids, central venous lines, arterial lines and cardiac monitors. With the SECHRIST chamber, we are also able to provide treatment for those patients who require mechanical ventilation.

Diagnostic procedures or laboratory tests that are necessary for your care can be done on site at St. Joseph Medical Center. However, your insurance carrier may dictate where the studies can be performed.

For patients whose physician has requested tissue oxygen mapping of a specific limb or extremity, we are able to provide transcutaneous oxygen monitoring in our facility.

Wound photography is used in our facility as a means of determining the progression of wound healing. A photograph of your wound or ulcer will be taken each time you visit. All patient health information is maintained and utilized in accordance with guidelines established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
